Maximizes Your Hot Water

Cala delivers up to 50% more hot water during periods of high demand by heating to a higher temperature and then mixing with colder water at the outlet to maintain a consistent delivery temperature to your home.

Lowers Energy
Bills

Cala learns your routine and uses advanced controls to heat water at the right time, speed, and temperature - cutting energy costs without sacrificing comfort.

Quiet
Operation

Cala runs at a noise level similar to a refrigerator when operating. And, you can select periods of time when Cala will not produce noise or cool air to enhance comfort in nearby rooms.

Lowers Your Carbon Emissions

By minimizing energy use, Cala lowers your carbon emissions by up to 75%. And with Cala Intelligent Preferences, you can lower them even more.

Is Cala right for your home?

Cala is designed to work in most homes, but there are a few things to check before you reserve. Here’s how to know if it’s a good fit for your space and setup.
1. SPACE & CLEARANCE
Cala is 24" in diameter and 67" tall. It needs:
  • 34" x 34" of floor space
  • 10 inches of space at the top and side air outlet for airflow
  • A room of at least 700 cubic feet or ducting may be required
  • A flat, indoor location like a basement, garage, or utility room
  • Access to a drain for condensate removal
2. HOT WATER CAPACITY
Cala’s 65-gallon tank is designed to meet the needs of households with up to 5 people.
3. NOISE & AIR CIRCULATION
Cala produces cool, dry air and runs at 47–51 dBA—similar to the sound of a refrigerator. You can set quiet hours to avoid certain times of day, but Cala will still need to run regularly. It’s best placed in a space where airflow is welcome and occasional noise won’t be disruptive.
4. ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
If you are replacing an electric water heater, the existing electrical circuit can be reused. If you are replacing a fossil fuel water heater, you'll likely need to install a 240V, 30 amp circuit to power Cala. This is straight forward in most - but not all - homes.
